We are currently seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team in Scottsdale, AZ.

Job Summary

The Accounting Manager is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting. This position will be responsible for maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. The Accounting Manager supervises a staff of two and is responsible for managing the team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation, and cash management. The Accounting Manager will report to the firm's Controller and work directly with outside auditors. In addition, there is an extensive interface with Operations, Sales, and Finance personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for closing month end for multiple companies
  • Responsible for financial statement preparation
  • Oversees staff accountant and processing accounting functions
  • Prepares/reviews all journal entries
  • Prepares audit schedules, as required
  • Prepares annual government surveys
  • Reviews trial balance reports at month end
  • Reviews and prepares balance sheet reconciliations
  • Reviews bank reconciliations
  • Reconciles sales and purchases clearing accounts
  • Analyzes account balances for accuracy, reasonableness, and completeness
  • Ensures reconciliation and classification of inter-company transactions
  • Monitors and analyzes department work for improving efficiency
  • Monitors and insures proper internal control compliance

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA a plus
  • 3 - 5 years of accounting experience with 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Mixture of public and private accounting
  • Manufacturing industry experience preferred

Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of SAP is required
  • Knowledge of US GAAP accounting, IFRS a plus
  • Possesses extensive knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong people/verbal/written skills necessary
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Must be able to multi-task and handle several projects simultaneously
  • Must possess flexibility in order to meet deadlines
  • Able to work independently and as a team member
  • Able to organize and prioritize work
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers effectively
